Be Kind Rewind
Last weekend I saw the amazing movie, Be Kind Rewind starring Jack Black and Mos Def. It is an independent film and was released selectively. Luckily it came to the dollar theater in town. The basic synopsis is that Jerry (Black) and Mike (Def) run a video store while the owner is away. Nutty Innovator/scientist Jerry becomes magnetized and erases all the tapes. When regular customers come to get movies they are supplied with a homemade version of the same film. They soon become a big hit. I thought it was just going to be a typical Jack Black movie, but there is a bit more to the story and has a good moral at the end. Don't worry. Jack lives up to expectations. The movie is very comical and I highly recommend it to all.

And You Thought Bert from Mary Poppins Was Good!
My friend showed me a site with some amazing sidewalk chalk pieces. It is very creative. One of the most impressive things I've seen in a while. Here a few of them, but if you want to see more click here. May I remind you that these are all flat and only chalk.

She & Him
The debut album "Volume One" from the group She & Him came out this past Tuesday. I finally got around to purchasing it. The band consists of actress Zooey Deschanel famous for her role in Elf as well as musician M. Ward. They have a wonderful sound which is enhanced by the power , yet unique voice of Deschanel. They have a great blend of genres in their album from modern indie pop to sounds of folky 60's and 70's and some with a twist of 50's . It was a refreshing album to hear something new and out of the ordinary. Check out a couple songs on the playlist onthe right.
