Inspiration: BYU Art Education Show

I couple months ago was the BYU Art Education show. It was up for just under two weeks. Here is the flyer that I made for the show:

I had two pieces in the show. The first won an honorable mention. It is a photo triptych.

The second was my installation. I collected quarter sheet flyers for a year and invited others to do so as well. The piece is about social stigmas and interacting with strangers, going out of your comfort zone. Viewers were invited to break through the curtain and enter inside the space. I also documented via video both an acceptance and a rejection of people's petitions. Those videos were playing on loop.

Can I take your picture...for the school paper?

I have accomplished one of my highest ambitions and taken a large leap in my skills as a photographer. One of my photos ran with a story in the BYU Daily Universe. I signed up to be a volunteer photographer for the paper at the end of April. They called a few weeks ago and asked me to come in to be oriented and to give me my first job. I have already shot for a few stories, but this is the first one that has ran with a photo.

The Suburbs

On August 3rd, Arcade Fire will release their third album entitled The Suburbs. They have released two singles: The Suburbs and Month of May. Both of these can be heard on their website. We are greatly anticipating this album.
