Trash Art!

This is one of the coolest art that I have seen since I discovered the sidewalk chalk a while a go. These Shadows are acrual shadows of these combinations of "stuff" from the correct angle.  These pieces are so creative and amazingly executed.  I would have never thought of doing this.  What amazes me is that the original object does not even look at all like the shadow that it can create.   All I can say is WOW.  Check out the site that I discovered it here.

Hel Looks!

Need to wackify your style? Take some advice from Hel Looks.  It is a website that I discovered that gives a picture and short Bio on people (mainly from Europe) with amazing and novel styles.  Here are some examples, but check it out here yourself.  They have many to see.

Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

The new Sigur Rós album is finally here!  It is amazing.  I love the new sound in a few songs that is exemplified in their single Gobbledigook.  It is not their usual ambient/post rock.  It is more upbeat and joyful rather then their typical tranquility.  They astound me in their quality of music, their simplexity, their exploration of instruments, Jónsi's amazing falsetto.  Their music is truly beautiful and exemplifies the Divine purpose of music.  If you have never listened to this band please do so by downloading this song.

CLEVER!

These are the greatest. First of all, the ideas are witty and worthwhile, and the execution is definitely eye-catching!

Santogold

I happened upon this little find today, and it's rather intriguing.

It's a little pseudo-morbid. But it makes you think about death, and such things differently. I was slightly disturbed, but I think that the creativity merits a post.

Denis Darzacq

In looking for some inspiration for a project in my class I came across this very interesting/amazing photographer.  My own photography usually captures life in its state with little to no alterations by myself, but every now and then someone will do some staged photography that is genius.  Denis Darzacq is one who can.  Here are some of his photos.

Death Cab Concert

It was my utmost pleasure to finally go to a Death Cab show.  It was probably one of the best shows I have ever been too.  They played with Tegan and Sarah and were supposed to play with Rogue Wave as well, but they were unable to play because of technical difficulties which was quite unfortunate.

Tegan and Sarah.

They had a fantastic backdrop similar to their
album cover.

The lighting was amazing.  I loved it.

Flotsam

I discovered this amazing book at the library where I work yesterday.  It is called Flotsam by David Wiesner.  It is a picture with no words, but gives a most remarkable story about a boy's discovery at the beach.  The illustrations are beautiful in a somewhat comic portrayal.  I would highly recommend this book to any lover of art, children's books, and discovery.

Recycle

For my industrial design class we were asked to take something disposable and make it usable, give it a second life.  I made this chaise lounge out of  thick tubing coming from different locations such as the BYU library and Provo Daily Herald. It is connected with one continuous rope and some bolts.
