How have I lived this long without seeing this movie? I was uplifted by not only the original story, but the music-oh my goodness-every bit of it was stunning. What I was most affected by was the light motif that permeated the entire film. The notion of personal enlightenment correlating with the inspiration of music was magnificent. And Freddie Highmore was marvelous, what a gifted young man he is.
Admittedly, I am not the prodigy that August is, but this film exposed a formerly unknown realm of music and sound itself to me. Anyone who has any interest in music at all should-no, must-see this stunning piece of cinema.
