The Fountain

Last night I watched an amazing film.  It has been a while since I've seen a film of this credibility.  It stars the incomparable Hugh Jackman as well as Rachel Weisz.   It is definitley a thinker and every detail is important to the experience.  The film uses a range of elements to add to the emotion, such as color, shape, and light.  The film portrays three story lines in sequence.  All three main charactersof the stories are played by Jackman.   It is said that the relationship between the three stories are up to interpretation.   With this in mind, one will receive different thoughts on the basic plot of the movie.  My personal interpretation is that the story is essentially about a man that learns struggling with the concept of death, motivated by the terminal illness of his wife.  This is I feel the main story line and is supported by the two others.  I highly recommend this film and its deep thought provoking nature.  I love moives like these where you are still thinking about it and trying figuring it all out weeks later and is recycled at each additional viewing.  A true masterpiece!
